Playable, attractive and well-designed. The graphics are the best seen in any football game and the practice option soon has you playing like a true pro.
Rick Dangerous II (MicroProse)
Admit it, Rick Dangerous I had you glued to your seat. Well, Rick Dangerous II is going to do the same thing... for twice as long.
A game with a good plot and competent programming, even if it does follow the basic template of most other games in the shoot-'em-up genre.
Their Finest Hour: The Battle Of Britain (Lucasfilm/US Gold)
Oozes quality, depth and exciting gameplay.
UMS II (MicroProse/Rainbird)
Adds exciting new life to a game style which is frankly dead and buried. With hosts of collectable weapons and two forms of movement - air or land - it has enough to keep you returning to the game for months.
Adidas Championship Tie Break (Ocean)
If you enjoy challenging friends or simply fancy a game of solo tennis, turn on your monitor, get out the barley water and get stuck in.
An immensely playable game stuffed full of dungeons, dragons, dead bodies and dwarves - all the elements those well-adjusted role-players love!
Operation Stealth (Delphine/US Gold)
Looks good, sounds good, and is seductively exciting. None of this namby-pamby Ye Olde Worlde adventure stuff that demands a huge suspension of disbelief, Operation Stealth is full-bloodied, cloak and dagger, international intrigue.
The scenario may be old hat, but your quest is long term and open-ended enough to give you complete adventuring freedom. On the negative side, the documentation is awful.
Looking for a good shoot-'em-up? Look somewhere else. Unexciting visuals and wimpy sprites prevent Satan from having any of the appeal of classics.
The game doesn't encourage that one-more-go feeling which makes or breaks a game.
A tricky little puzzler. You'll like it if your idea of fun is to get so frustrated that you have a manic desire to repeatedly hit your keyboard with your brother's head!
Leisure Suit Larry 3: Passionate Patti In Pursuit Of The Pulsating Pectorals (Sierra)
Leisure Suit Larry 3 just takes far too long to play, not because it's challenging, but because screen updating and frequent disk accessing is so slow. You'll probably find yourself hoping Larry catches a fatal dose of VD and puts us all out of our misery.
Dead End (Interactive Technology)
If you're a film noir fan, have murky lighting in your bedroom and miss those days when men were sharp and dames were dangerous, get your shabby raincoat out of the cupboard, load up Dead End and start wisecracking with the best of them.
If the programmers spent a little longer making the game playable then the desire to see what happens next would overcome the desire to hit the reset button on the back of your ST.
Weird Tales (Interactive Technology)
Weird Tales takes the frustration out of adventuring. The intuitive Zen system incorporated into the game makes life easy for the hardened adventurer and the novice alike.
Falcon Mission Disk 2 (Mirrorsoft)
If Falcon is one of those games you constantly return to, then this disk is for you.
