Need For Speed: Underground during the day with great cop chases. Good fun, but still not the most adrenaline-pumping racer available.

Ski Racing 2006 (Deep Silver) (Xbox (EU Version))

Robust, sturdy and a little bit 'beige'. And though it may well be Live, don't could on every finding anyone to play against!

Tiny dinkers wanting to get their hands on an Xbox pad could do far worse. Nonsense, but kiddy-pleasing nonsense.

Cracking stuff. A dusty, horseback GTA-style epic, with more attitude and head-popping action than you could hope for.

A slightly extended version of a total classic. Not worth buying for Fable vets, but newbies should snap it up instantly.

Call Of Duty 2: Big Red One (Activision) (Xbox (EU Version))

A perfect example of a WWII game. Great visuals, intense sound and smooth controls. It doesn't get any better.

Jacked (Empire) (Xbox (EU Version))

What does a disinterested shrug look like in words? If a not-particularly-outstanding update of Road Rash is your thing, dig in.

Crime Life: Gang Wars (Konami) (Xbox (EU Version))

Brutal and mundane in one, it's a bad of tired clichés, and little more. Really not worth bothering your arse about.

Shadow The Hedgehog (Sega) (Xbox (EU Version))

Not great, but Shadow's massive levels, speed and multiple challenges make this a decent enough package for Heroes lovers.

Operation Flashpoint: Elite (Codemasters) (Xbox (EU Version))

A realistic, gritty and hugely tactical recreation of war that lacks the graphical polish it deserves.

Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire (Electronic Arts) (Xbox (EU Version))

The best Potter game yet, this is all about Potter's magic and his ability to use it.

The Incredibles: Rise Of The Underminer (THQ) (Xbox (EU Version))

With none of Pixar's characterisation or charm, this is just a cheap cash-in on the movie. Don't punish your kids with it!

Insane to the point of being unfathomable, SpongeBob may be 'kerazy', but we think he's taken it one step too far this time.

A great way of playing online poker for free, but as an offline method of poker practice it's merely okay.

Technically far superior to EA's NHL game, but lacking in user-friendly polish and presentation.

More modes and options than NBA Live 06, but distinctly rougher around the edges. 8-ball fans, your cup runneth over.

Tecmo Classic Arcade (Tecmo) (Xbox (EU Version))

A small, workmanlike collection that still includes one or two genuine classics. Okay, but there's better elsewhere.

American Chopper (Activision) (Xbox (EU Version))

Trundle about on a boring bike doing not much at all. Like a malformed EA game they forgot to put the gloss on. Yuck!

Crash Tag Team Racing (Sierra) (Xbox (EU Version))

Part platformer, part karting game, neither of which are particularly appealing. It's time to put this Bandicoot to sleep.

Shattered Union (2K Games) (Xbox (EU Version))

Get bamboozled by the stats and menus, then, if you're lucky, you might have five minutes of furtive firing fun.

Psychonauts (Majesco) (Xbox (EU Version))

A platform lover's dream, literally. Turns the hopping/collecting formula on its head and then inside-out. Great stuff.

Shrek SuperSlam (Activision) (Xbox (EU Version))

An entertaining effort packed with special moves and colourful Shrek characters and humour. It's not Dead Or Alive, bit it's still a blast.
