Alisia Dragoon (Sega) (Sega Mega Drive (EU Version))
Plenty of action, hidden levels and varied tactics involving different lizards. Combine this with ace graphics and excellent sound effects and you're onto a real winner.
California Games (Sega) (Sega Mega Drive (EU Version))
Some of the events, such as roller-skating, are weak compared to the more action-packed sports, but in the end the game emerges favourably and is well worth a look.
Dick Tracy (Sega) (Sega Mega Drive (EU Version))
There are better games out there in the scrolling genre, but if you fancy a change and want to play a film licence that's actually some cop, you could do a lot worse than this.
Golden Axe (Virgin) (Sega Mega Drive (EU Version))
Far better than Golden Axe 2, the characters have a decent amount of hack 'n slash moves which can be tried out on the multitude of orcs and other scaly creatures from the darkside which assail them.
Gynoug (Sega) (Sega Mega Drive (EU Version))
A classic Megadrive scrolly shooter and an essential purchase for all self-respecting Megadrive owners.
Rambo III (Sega) (Sega Mega Drive (EU Version))
Not everyone's cup of char, but for sheer mindless violence, there's not much to top it.
Spider-Man (Acclaim) (Sega Mega Drive (EU Version))
Spider-Man throws together loads of different elements and taxes your joypad skills every step of the way.
Revenge Of Shinobi (Sega) (Sega Mega Drive (EU Version))
A totally fab game... One which should have a place in everyone's collection.
Toe Jam And Earl (Sega) (Sega Mega Drive (EU Version))
An extremely original game and excellent fun for one or two players.
Zero Wing (Sega) (Sega Mega Drive (EU Version))
It's not quite in the same league as Gynoug or Hellfire, but for shoot-'em-up fans, it's an essential purchase!
Double Clutch (Sega) (Sega Mega Drive (EU Version))
It's fast and smooth and quite playable. However, in terms of content and excitement it's lacking compared to the utterly fab Micro Machines.
Time Gal (Wolfteam) (Sega CD (US Version))
Impressive to look at, this is really an expensive personal cartoon, rather than a game. There's no real lasting interest, making for a CD title that's definitely not worth its high price tag.
Andre Agassi Tennis (Tecmagik) (Sega Mega Drive (EU Version))
A potentially strong licence sadly let down by basic programming and graphical flaws which shouldn't have been let through the net.
J League Pro-Striker (Sega) (Sega Mega Drive (JP Version))
Although initially off-putting, this soccer simulation turns out to be one of the greatest video game renderings of the national sport ever produced.
The Incredible Crash Dummies (Takara) (Sega Game Gear (EU Version))
An entertaining and humorous game which offers hours of enjoyment for solo players and is even more fun for two.
The Flintstones (Sega) (Sega Mega Drive (EU Version))
A good-looking, smooth-playing attractive platform game.
Super-Man (Virgin) (Sega Master System (EU Version))
Fast, tough and playable. However, it's also very frustrating, which will put a lot of players off it.
WWF Steel Cage Challenge (Acclaim) (Sega Master System (EU Version))
Even die-hard WWF wrestling fans will be disappointed with this one.
NBA All-Star Challenge (Flying Edge) (Sega Mega Drive (EU Version))
A dull, wafer-thin excuse for a game that basketball fans especially should avoid at all costs.
Captain Planet And The Planeteers (Sega) (Sega Mega Drive (EU Version))
A very average licence converted into an absolute shambles of a travesty on the Megadrive. Avoid at all costs.
Ball Jacks (Namco) (Sega Mega Drive (EU Version))
Weirdly enjoyable - for a short while. After the novelty wears off, its appeal plummets faster than that 'plane out of the movie Alive.
Ranger-X (Sega) (Sega Mega Drive (EU Version))
What a groovy game. Ranger X is impervious to just about every criticism, so getting it would be jolly sensible. A totally amazing blaster!
David Crane's Amazing Tennis (Absolute Entertainment) (Sega Genesis)
The best tennis game on the Megadrive. Oozing realism and combining great action with stunning graphics.
Chester Cheetah (Kaneko) (Sega Genesis)
Slow, tedious and about as much fun as sticking your head down a public latrine.
Forgotten Worlds (Sega) (Sega Master System (EU Version))
Pretty good fun to play, but waaay too easy.
HardBall! (Ballistix) (Sega Genesis/Sega Mega Drive)
If you really must have a Megadrive baseball game, check out the much superior and frill-packed HardBall III.
Blockout (Electronic Arts) (Sega Mega Drive (EU Version))
Unusual, addictive and just as brilliant now as it was back then.
King's Bounty (Electronic Arts) (Sega Mega Drive (EU Version))
Compared to the likes of Landstalker and Shining Force, it's a steaming cowpat of a game and doesn't warrant purchase.
Wrestle War (Sega) (Sega Mega Drive (EU Version))
The graphics and gameplay are good, but this game is far too easy!
