Should go down very well with Megadrive owners after a decent beat-'em-up.

Visually and aurally Hook is tremendous, but underneath there is a very average game bursting to get out. A real waste of the Mega CD's enormous potential.

Muhammad Ali (Virgin) (Sega Mega Drive (EU Version))

The greatest boxing simulation for any home console.

Mickey Mouse 2 (Disney/Sega) (Sega Master System (EU Version))

A brilliant platform game for the Master System... Getting through some of the later levels takes some doing, and the interest level while you attempt this remains very high indeed.

Batman Returns (Sega) (Sega Master System (EU Version))

This Master System effort proves itself inferior to its Megadrive and Game Gear team members. In all, a real disappointment.

G-LOC (Sega) (Sega Mega Drive (EU Version))

A backward step from Afterburner II. The gameplay becomes monotonous within a short time. Not enough thought has gone into creating an interesting game.

The Little Mermaid (Sega) (Sega Game Gear (EU Version))

A very easy game... Perhaps the licence will appeal to the very young. For anyone else, it's too basic and shortlived to be of any interest.

After Burner III (Sega) (Mega CD (EU Version))

The worst game ever on the Megadrive, let alone the Mega-CD. If this is the standard of software support for the new expansion, it's going to bomb fast.

Wolf Child (JVC) (Mega CD (EU Version))

The game's not totally awful but the Mega-CD's capabilities are not used in any shape or form which makes for a very disappointing product.

OutRun 2019 (Sims) (Sega Mega Drive (JP Version))

Packed with decent ideas and quite playable, but the game is sadly let down by being way too easy and lacking severely in the variety department.

Aero Blasters (Kaneco) (Sega Mega Drive (JP Version))

Although it's fun, it's not very original, and there are loads of better horizontally scrolling blasters around.

Dynamite Duke (Sega) (Sega Master System (EU Version))

Holds little interest... It's fast and very playable, but it is way too easy.

A limp conversion of the arcade giant... Whichever way you look at it, it's simply a very farty game.

One of the best blasters for the Megadrive.

Pac-Mania (Tecmagik) (Sega Master System (EU Version))

A great conversion of the coin-op, but games are repetitive and quite short-lived.

California Games (Sega) (Sega Master System (EU Version))
