The Secret Of St. Brides (St. Brides School) (Spectrum 48K/128K)
Not, perhaps, la creme de la creme, but a good effort and with a novel setting.
3D Voice Chess (CP Software) (Amstrad CPC464)
Excellent... The first chess game I've seen where the standard of graphics matches the amount of work put into the game algorithm.
Rock Raid (Kuma Computers) (Amstrad CPC464)
The welcome low price and the sophisticated implementation make up for the lack of originality in concept.
Dragons (Amsoft) (Amstrad CPC464)
The best ladders and levels graphics yet seen on the Amstrad.
Valley Of The Dead (Pocket Money) (Spectrum 48K)
This is a simple idea made very difficult... Guarantees hours of frustration.
Devil's Descent (Pocket Money) (Spectrum 48K)
Devil's Descent is just a dodgem game and I doubt it will appeal for long.
Highway Encounter (Vortex) (Spectrum 48K)
A polished product which should be well received by the arcade addicts.
Braxx Bluff (Amsoft) (Amstrad CPC464)
Addictive, interesting and enjoyable, though a little over-priced.
War Zone (Cases) (Amstrad CPC464)
The prompt keyboard response and challenging nature of the game made it a winner for me.
Castle Assault (Blue Ribbon) (Acorn Electron)
A first class game sold at the price of a budget game, but don't forget, this game was originally available from MRM software.
Mig Valley Ace (US Gold) (Atari 800XL/130XE/65XE)
Not as enjoyable as F-15 Strike Eagle, but the two-player mode compensates for its simplicity.
Beach Head (US Gold) (BBC/Electron)
The loss of quality from the Commodore original is minimal and with the numerous scenarios it offers a range of games for the price of one.
