Linked reviews are available to view in full on this site.
Spectrum Sprites (ISP Marketing) (Spectrum 48K)
A little re-programming will solve the problems with this... ISP should have done this, not the customer.
Drum Kit (Quicksilva) (BBC Model B)
All rhythms and voices can be saved... Results are often satisfying and easily achieved.
Although the program worked without interruption for several runs, it subsequently crashed with a Bad Value.
Screen Machine (ISP Marketing) (Spectrum 48K)
There are easier designers on the market, with more facilities... The 95 extra graphics have a copyright notice, which renders them useless.
Englishskills II (Griffin) (BBC Model B)
Even those things which are included here could all be fitted onto a few sheets of A4 paper with the answers on the back.
Wordskill (Chalksoft) (BBC Model B)
Does it encourage "immaginative thinking" and "correct spelling"? I can't say I'm convinced.
Maths 1 (Continental) (Memotech)
Nothing more than an attempt to take advantage of the gullibility of parents.
Storyline (Daco) (BBC Model B)
This is one of those programs where more time and thought could have improved matters greatly. In particular, you need to be offered a much wider choice of words.
Frac Attack (Shards) (BBC Model B)
Whilst this program won't teach the concepts, it will certainly motivate children to get plenty of practice.
Chemical Simulations (Acornsoft) (BBC Model B)
A good program... There is a list of questions that may be asked by the student.
Readright (Daco) (BBC Model B)
This will only be of help to your child if this matches the method used in its school and should not be used without consultation.
Mathskills 1 (Griffin) (BBC Model B)
May be helpful to some, but it does nothing to attract the slow or reluctant learner.
