Four Great Games

Phantom:
Atari User July 87 voted this 9/10 at full price, and said: "Phantom is original and well worth buying. Graphics are first rate and character animation is superb."

Rebound:
The ultimate in a challenging, addictive arcade game. Atari User March 88 said: "The game contains all the features needed to be a winner. Smooth scrolling, superb graphics and overall addictiveness - a superb product".

Countdown:
An AZ Stratohawk Bomb has become detached from its B52 bomber. Guide Commaner Zakarius to disarm the AZ before things get out of control.

Cannibals:
Arthur our Hero has had a nightmare experience. He has been pursued by Robots, Skeletons and Cannibals. His only defence is to dig holes with his shovel and bash the aliens over their heads as they fall in.

Phantom

Battle your way from room to room in an effort to get to the transporter on the bottom floor of each building. A bonus is awarded if all ghosts are cleared from a room before you leave. However, watch your reactor level. Isotope power packs are few and far between and a loss of energy at the wrong time is fatal! As if you E.C.G. rate if it reaches 100 BPM.

Rebound

On the Menu Screen, select the level of difficulty with the OPTION key. Level 1 is the slowest and easiest. Level 3 the fastest. Select one or two player mode with the SELECT key. If one-player mode is selected, the player will play against the computer. The game screen shows each player's prospective view from opposite sides of the corridor.

Scoring:
For a player to score, he must get the ball past the opposition's bat and also have the advantage. The advantaged player is the one with the bright bat. To get the advantage, the player must score, this is not classed as a point but that player's bat will get brighter. If a player scores when he has the advantage (brighter bat) then he will score a point. The first player to get seven points wins.

Countdown

Sooner or later somebody was bound to misplace a nuclear device, and now it's happened.

Whilst on armed manoeuvres, a B52 lost one of its AZ Stratohawk bombs. It has now been located but unfortunately the casing has been damaged and the bomb is leaking radioactive particles.

So it's up to you (Commander Zakarius Fitzwilliam) to disarm the AZ before things get out of hand.

You've already sent in a remote automated TP1 unit but this appears to have been damaged by the radioactivity and is now out of control. Unfortunately, the tools necessary to disarm the Stratohawk have been lost by the TP1 unit when its main CPU was damaged by the radioactivity.

Oh! by the way, Countdown had begun.

Objective:
To collect the four tools in the correct order and disarm the bomb before the timer counts down to zero.

Gameplay:
Move Zak around the grid to collect tools in order shown by tool icon at top of the screen in the centre.

Once all four tools have been collected go to the bomb to disarm it.

Moving onto the bomb before all tools have been collected will result in a nuclear explosion and the loss of one life. Contact with radiation particle cloud will cause loss of one life. Contact with TP1 unit will cause the loss of one life.

Levels Of Play:
Tools appear in one of three forms:

1. Visible (as in level one)
2. Hidden behind four of the white squares (as in level two)
3. Invisible, hidden behind any square (as in level three)

The rogue TP1 unit will appear from level four onwards. These can be activated by walking on to them and releasing joystick. This will transport you to another grid location. Mystery squares will appear from level ten onwards. These are activated as above.

One of four results will occur:

1. 50 Bonus points will be gained (70% chance)
2. Level will be decremented (13%)
3. One life will be gained (12%)
4. One life will be lost (5%)

Hints And Tips:
Moving Zak around the screen will be quicker if done in an anticlockwise direction. Avoid moving from bomb nose when starting.

Timing - when moving up the screen is critical, especially when moving to the top left or top right squares.

Oh! Did I tell you that pressing the Fire button will cause your shield to activate. This will allow you to come into contact with the TP1 unit or the radiation particles without harm. Careful though, the shield will only last about three seconds!

Cannibals

Did you ever have one of those terrible nightmares where everything was after you and you desperately wished for help? Well, now it's happening to Arthur and his only hope is you, as he is pursued by Robots, Skeletons, Ghosts, Aliens and Cannibals.

Arthur's only defence is a shovel and your help. The only way to dispose of his hostile pursuers is to dig a hole and the pursuer falls in, hit it over the head with the shovel to knock it down to the next level... some need to fall more than one level to be destroyed. Help Arthur climb up and down the ladders to destroy his predatory pursuers as you choose where he should dig the holes.

Don't worry about Arthur falling down the hole, even if he falls from the top of the screen he'll be all right, after all, it's only a nightmare. The only things that can kill him are those that are chasing him and you're going to help him, aren't you?

Many different screens available in this challenging arcade game with five skill levels plus one random level selectable by one or two players.

Remember: Arthur needs you... and who knows, one dark night when you're trapped in a terrifying nightmare, Arthur may come to your assistance!!!
