Excellent presentation and some jolly 128K tunes make this Mr. Do variant a lot of fun to play. Read Review
It plays in not too dissimilar fashion to Dig Dug, with a bit of Bomberman thrown in for good measure... You'll find yourself drawn back often, whilst humming along to the ear-pleasing music. Read Review
The game-play and difficulty curve are spot-on too, and every time I play it I succeed in progressing a little bit further. Read Review
Reviewed in the annual Crash Annual 2018.
Jack loves his homebrew wine.
What started as a hobby, with a lone demijohn of elderberry wine bubbling away in the under stairs cupboard, has become big business for him in a few short years, and the number of allotments he owns, to grow the fruits, is getting bigger every year. Big business isn't easy though - this year, another supplier has been flooding the market with cheap nasty wine, but Jack's wholesome organic produce still rules the market - despite all the competition tried.
But last night, at the end of another fabulous growing season, when he had started collecting the fruit for this year's vintage he heard a clanging of metal, smelt the foul smell of big business, and saw huge steel monsters roaming the allotments, trampling the paths and destroying his crops!
"By 'eck! Me 'arvest! It's a rum-do, this!" Jack exclaimed, and off he set again to gather his harvest, and deal with the competition's mechanical menace that was threatening his livelihood...
Jack progresses through the game by making each area of his allotment safe - either by collecting all the fruit or by destroying all the monsters. Boulders can be pushed or undermined to make them fall on any unsuspecting monster, or Jack himself if he doesn't get out of the way soon enough. A number of bombs are also at his disposal, which will explode once the fuse has burnt out - hopefully giving Jack enough time to leave the blast area and the monsters to move within its range.
