Linked reviews are available to view in full on this site.
Pool Of Radiance (Strategic Simulations Inc.) (Commodore 64/128)
A game which no role player or adventurer should be without.... People new to role playing should seriously consider buying as an introductory guide.
Heroes Of The Lance (Strategic Simulations Inc.) (Amiga 500)
Any game that can keep me up to 4 o'clock in the morning has to be worth checking out.
Vindicator (Imagine) (Amstrad CPC464)
The Vindicator is really three games in one, and unlike many efforts of this kind, each game is of excellent quality and has plenty of original quirks.
Armalyte (Thalamus Ltd) (Commodore 64/128)
Armalyte will knock your socks off! It's simply the absolute pinnacle of Commodore gaming at present, and sets new standards that many will find nigh on impossible to match.
Rocket Ranger (Cinemaware) (Amiga 500)
Liberal use of glinting thighs and plunging cleavages... there's also the odd bit of fetishism and bondage, so on the whole it's pretty unsuitable for adults.
Intensity (Firebird) (Commodore 64)
If you're a Braybrook fan, try before you buy: you might find yourself disappointed - I certainly was.
L.A. Crackdown (Epyx) (Commodore 64/128)
Great fun, though not terribly complicated... The good thing about the game is that it's completely realistic; no jet-packs, wrist-communicators or stun-guns.
The Bobby Yazz Show (Crash) (Spectrum 48K)
It's not a bad little game, but I think it's the "little" that stops it from being a great one. It's just too short and repetitive to be in any way addictive or lasting.
1943 is a very good game indeed, but doesn't offer enough improvements over the original.
Nineteen Part One (Cascade) (Spectrum 48K/128K)
Basically a compilation of four unremarkable games rather than one good one.
Star Ray (Logotron) (Amiga 500)
By far the best pure blaster yet produced on 16-bit. It's slick and beautifully presented.
Bubble Ghost (Accolade) (Amiga 500)
A neat little game; the appeal may wane after a while, but until then you'll be forever blowing bubbles!
Tracers (Microillusions) (Amiga 500)
An atmospheric, nicely produced and packaged game: one that pushes forward no boundaries - especially graphically - but which offers playability in spades.
An adventure full of fishy puzzles and puns that is guaranteed to produce shoals of laughter as you scratch your scales trying to fathom its depths.
Mortville Manor (Lankhor) (Amiga 500)
A well presented, typically French, intriguing mystery. It is, however, somewhat disappointing to find that the characters listed as present in a location are not actually pictured.
The Realm (Cult Games) (Spectrum 48K/128K)
An interesting little adventure that puts the player in quite an original dilemma at the start, and is pleasant to play.
Smashed (Alternative) (Spectrum 48K/128K/+2)
Hmmm... I'm not sure whether it was my lack of the intimate details of MASH, my stupidity, or the way the adventure is written, but after some three or four hours playing, I had managed to solve only one problem, and even that didn't merit any points...!
Aztec Adventure (Sega) (Sega Master System (EU Version))
The graphics are nice and detailed and it really has an Aztec feel to it... The tunes are straight out of Fantasy Zone and enhance an already well weird game.
Maze Hunter 3D (Sega) (Sega Master System (EU Version))
Yet another good reason to go and get some 3D specs!
Shinobi (Sega) (Sega Master System (EU Version))
Graphics are well defined and colourful, sound is good and the gameplay is excellent... The moves become instinctive after a short while and this leads to some very satisfying play.
Penguin Land (Sega) (Sega Master System (EU Version))
A game with cute graphics, tunes and almost fiendishly subtle puzzles to solve.
