Graphically impressive, and it bears a strong comparison to the coin-op.

Galaxy Force (Activision) (Amiga 500)

If I was to tell you that Activision have got the game as close to the arcade version as they possibly could whilst retaining the speed, you'd say I was mad. But they have, and it plays brilliantly too.

Dragons Of Flame (Strategic Simulations Inc) (Amiga 500)

Liked Heroes Of The Lance? Then you're guaranteed to love this. It manages to generate a healthy atmosphere and is in keeping with the D&D theme.

Horse Racing (Mindscape International Inc) (Amiga 500)

Not worth bothering about.

X-Out (Rainbow Arts) (Amiga 500)

Offers another option to fans of shoot-'em-ups.

Super Wonderboy (Activision) (Amiga 500)

Not the hottest conversion. Because of the slowness of the game, it's far too easy.

Cycles (Accolade) (Amiga 500)

Thumbs down. There just isn't enough in there to make it worthwhile, especially when RVF Honda exists on the market.

Super Puffy (Ubisoft) (Amiga 500)

A brilliant variation on a worn theme. In time it will get boring, but it's still worth buying for the cute factor alone.

Never Mind (Psyclapse) (Amiga 500)

A poor example of a puzzler. It's too hard, too tedious and it's repetitive.

Onslaught (Hewson Consultants) (Amiga 500)

With its Maniacs Of Noise soundtrack and its lasting gameplay, Onslaught is furious, fun and addictive. Check it out.

Ghostbusters II (Activision) (Amiga 500)

A game that will appeal to almost everyone.

Time (Empire) (Amiga 500)

A game that arcade adventure fans will be able to get their teeth into and chew on for many months.

Knight Force (Titus) (Amiga 500)

Has nothing like the staying power to justify the price.

It Came From The Desert (Cinemaware) (Amiga 500)

Wow! It goes without saying that it's extraordinarily polished. The sections all interlock fluently, whilst the graphics, as ever, are excellent. All the townsfolk you come into contact with appear as large animated stills, whilst the locations are authentically put together.

Battle Squadron (Innerprise) (Amiga 500)

Not a classic, but nevertheless a welcome relief from the constant battery of licences we seem to be receiving.

Armada (Arc) (Amiga 500)

Definitely release of the month for people who have experienced and enjoyed its predecessor, Waterloo.

Chase HQ (Ocean) (Amiga 500)

A huge disappointment. It looks as though it's been rushed to meet the Christmas deadline.

Take 'Em Out (Artronic Products) (Amiga 500)

A quick-finish gun 'em down and an expensive way to spend a commercial break.

Eye Of Horus (Logotron) (Amiga 500)

A typical maze game. All but the cream of maze games become very samey very quickly; but add to this the repetitive graphics and gameplay and you have a game with all the appeal of a damp lettuce leaf.

Dungeon Quest (Gainstar) (Amiga 500)

A welcome return to the more traditional type of text adventure with graphics.
