Linked reviews are available to view in full on this site.
Dragon Spirit (Domark) (Amiga 500)
Having now played both Amiga and PC Engine versions of this game I can conclusively reveal that the PC Engine version is head, shoulders and ankles above the Amiga's graphics, speed, colour and sound.
North And South (Data East) (Amiga 500)
The graphics are of a very high standard, as is the soundtrack, and that's what makes the game an instant hit.
Powerdrift (Activision) (Commodore 64/128)
This C64 version is far superior to the Amiga version. It plays with all the fast-paced frenzy of the arcade original.
Day Of The Pharaoh (Rainbow Arts) (Amiga 500)
A good game in the increasingly popular field of interactive strategy.
Cabal (Ocean) (Commodore 64/128)
All the sprites are well defined, even the titchy ones in the distance, and all are clear and recognisable. The problem I did have with this is that there's no longer a simultaneous two player option.
Xenophobe (Micro Style) (Commodore 64)
Who'd have thought the day would come when I'd give a MicroProse game a bad review? Doomsday is upon us.
Tintin On The Moon (Infogrames) (Amiga 500)
It's sad once again to have to say that another great cartoon licence has been thrown away.
Batman The Movie (Ocean) (Commodore 64)
A really good game and a very well thought out conversion.
By no means as good as it could have been, but still fun nonetheless. Worth buying.
Kick Off (Anco) (Commodore 64/128)
Kick Off on the C64 is a game which deserves a budget price. By all means take a look at it, but if you're expecting a good kick around, give it a miss.
Pictionary (Domark) (Amiga 500)
There's certainly amusement watching people's weak attempts to draw with a mouse, but it's painfully slow work and there's no way I can recommend this.
The Games: Summer Edition (Epyx) (Amiga 500)
A useful multi-format sports simulation... I don't hesitate to recommend it.
Laser Squad (Microillusions) (Amiga 500)
Excellent, although I can't help but feel slightly put out by the lack of improvement to the original.
Swords Of Twilight (Electronic Arts) (Amiga 500)
An uninspired RPG that's too simple to satisfy true role players and too dull to entice arcadesters.
Star Command (Strategic Simulations Inc) (Amiga 500)
May not push the Amiga to its limits, but it has a level of gameplay and depth most conversions and licences can only dream of.
Bushido (Firebird) (Commodore 64)
A fun offering from MicroProse, especially for the games player who doesn't like his games to be too intellectual.
Short Circuit (The Hit Squad) (Commodore 64/128)
An interesting arcade adventure which should be enough for any potential robot lover.
Hypersports (The Hit Squad) (Commodore 64/128)
An excellent nostalgia trip that's well worth a look for any newcomers.
Speedboat Assassin (16 Blitz) (Amiga 500)
The sound is dull and the game is one big yawn from start to finsih.
Sorcery Plus (16 Blitz) (Amiga 500)
Neat, if minimal, graphics, atmospheric sound... and totally addictive.
Oil Imperium (Reline) (Commodore 64)
A perfect conversion, if not actually better than the Amiga. A message to C64 owners: You lucky, lucky people.
Master Grand Prix (Dinamic) (Commodore 64)
The graphics aren't bad, the scrolling smooth and there are some nice effects. It's just a shame the terrible design means that you haven't a hope in hell of ever seeing the race, let alone another bike.
Wicked (Activision) (Commodore 64/128)
A faultless game which goes to show what can be done with a C64.
Scapeghost (Level 9 Computing) (Commodore 64/128)
A very original adventure which is enjoyable to play.
