After Burner (Activision) (Commodore 64/128)
A reasonable attempt at converting the unconvertable. Technically it's not serious opposition for Operation Wolf, but for the public it may still prove to be number one.
Side Arms (Go!) (Commodore 64/128)
Side Arms isn't a difficult game, it's just not a very playable one.
Operation Wolf (Ocean) (Commodore 64/128)
All you C64 owners with a compatible mouse should rush out and buy Operation Wolf immediately.
Joan Of Arc (Chip) (Amiga 500)
The only thing that really mars Joan Of Arc is the disk access. That aside, it's still fun to play.
Out Run (U. S. Gold) (Amiga 500)
Even though Probe have got to grips with the speed, somehow Out Run still disappoints. It goes fast enough to hurt my eyes, and I also have reservations about its smoothness and implementation.
Risk (Virgin Games) (Commodore 64)
The computer is excellent at keeping track of positions, a league table of battle performance, dishing out bonus armies and remembering whose go it is.
Guerilla War (Imagine) (Commodore 64)
Not only is Guerrilla War a very poor conversion, it's also a very poor game in its own right. Either way, give this one a wide berth.
Ocean Conqueror (Rack-It) (Commodore 64/128)
If you fancy some adrenalin-pumping action, you might be advised to head ashore.
Powerplay (Players) (Commodore 64/128)
A great game. It can be as much fun when played alone as when played against another person, or in a group.
Pulsoids (Mastertronic) (Commodore 64/128)
It feels good, plays well and is more fun than you might expect.
Traz (Gamebusters) (Commodore 64)
There's plenty of variety in the game itself, including all the features of competitors such as Arkanoid and Krakout - plus one or two of its own devising, such as two bats, several exits, refracting walls, pinball bumpers and scrolling backdrops which frazzle your eyes.
X-15 Alpha Mission (Mastertronic) (Commodore 64/128)
Not too much of a strain to complete this one; best not to bother in the first place really.
How To Be A Complete Bastard (Mastertronic) (Commodore 64/128)
If you really want to be a bastard, buy it for someone as a Christmas stocking filler.
Dan Dare II (Mastertronic) (Commodore 64/128)
There are some gorgeous graphics and fast action, but the gameplay is a bit too shallow to be regarded as a lasting proposition.
Lancelot (Level 9 Computing) (Amiga 500)
It's a cracking good story, and well thought out in its presentation as an adventure, yet spoiled by lack of anticipation of players' likely commands, and a few minor text bugs that sometimes give confusing replies.
