Very playable indeed. Apart from the dodgy shooting, and the initial difficulty in mastering the grabbing manoeuvre it all becomes very addictive.

3D Pinball (Mastertronic Plus) (Commodore 64/128)

If you like pinball, you'll lurve this. Its only downfall is that you're limited to only one table.

Firelord (Players) (Commodore 64)

The graphics are fair; not great but well-drawn enough to convey some atmosphere. Gameplay is quite fast moving and the menu system when you enter a house is well-designed, which adds to the no-nonsense gameplay.

Batman The Caped Crusader (The Hit Squad) (Commodore 64/128)

A highly playable treat, oozing atmosphere... Two completely different adventures make it an all-round winner.

Edd The Duck (Zeppelin Games) (Commodore 64/128)

Lacks that special something which would set it apart from any other platform games, for better or worse.

E-SWAT (U. S. Gold) (Commodore 64/128)

Controls are nice and responsive and the action has just enough variety to keep you on your toes. Certainly later levels get very tricky indeed. Yep, this should keep you "E-SWATting" away for ages.

NARC (Ocean) (Commodore 64/128)

This'll sell in bucket-loads but if you prefer a more challenging blast, beware. You may find that this doesn't come up to scratch.

Super Cars (Gremlin) (Commodore 64/128)

Fun fun fun. The whole package just hangs together so well the only option open to me is to say 'Unreservedly recommended'.

Night Shift (Lucasfilm) (Commodore 64/128)

Ideal for those with the patience of a saint, the stamina of an elephant and as much need for sleep as Rip Van Winkle and it's got the potential to induce mass insomnia in spite of its faults.

S.T.U.N. Runner (Domark) (Commodore 64/128)

If you were a fan of the coin-op - and there were plenty of those - you should take a look. If, on the other hand you weren't that keen, there are far better race and blast games up for grabs out there.

Trevor Brooking's World Cup Glory (Challenge) (Commodore 64)

Very similar to Tracksuit Manager, except the presentation isn't quite so polished. If you enjoy text-based soccer strategy and you're patient with a sometimes awkward menu/selection system, there's more than enough depth to keep you occupied.

Dragon Breed (Activision) (Commodore 64/128)

The game is so visually and sonically impressive, so playable and such a good conversion that if you're a shoot-'em-up fan, this belongs in your collection. Simple as that.

U.N. Squadron (U. S. Gold) (Commodore 64/128)

Gets repetitive quite quickly... It's a better game in two-player mode and the variety of weapons helps, but if you're used to quality blasters the appeal soon wears off.
