Robocop 2 (Ocean) (Commodore 64)
With twelve different levels, sub-games and shoot-outs, Robocop 2 carries on the phenomenal success of the original!
Diplomacy (Leisure Genius) (Commodore 64)
A conversion of the board game and, whilst the action is compelling, it's just not as interactive as playing the board game itself.
The Spy Who Loved Me (Domark) (Commodore 64)
A derivative game - there's nothing new about the Spy Hunter-style truck nor the progressive weaponry. But, having said that, it a fair blaster which offers a fair whack of variety and will keep you occupied for a while.
Navy SEALS (Ocean) (Commodore 64)
If there was a bit more variety in the mission objectives, or it had a sub-game or something, then this would be an absolute stonker. As it stands, it's "very good!"
Helter Skelter (Audiogenic) (Commodore 64/128)
Colourful and cute graphics, adequate sound and oodles of playability.
Days Of Thunder (Mindscape International Inc) (Commodore 64/128)
After an initial period of interest, followed by one of intense frustration, the game soon becomes annoying rather than challenging. Leave it on the starting grid.
4 Most Horror (Alternative) (Commodore 64/128)
The only horrific thing about this title is the poor quality of three of the games on it. It's about as frightening as a day out with Mr. Magoo... and just as interesting.
Eliminator (Players) (Commodore 64/128)
The graphics are excellent, especially the manic veering of the road, and gameplay after the first level becomes furious as more and more split second decisions are required.
Arcade Trivia Quiz (Zeppelin Games) (Commodore 64/128)
It's not original and lacks interesting features, but if you take it for what it is (a simplistic trivia game) you won't be disappointed.
Puzznic (Ocean) (Commodore 64)
Check it out! It hasn't got the depth of Tetris but it's tough, compulsive and a barrel of fun.
Cyberball (Tengen) (Commodore 64/128)
With more effort, this could have been an excellent futuristic sport sim - but with all the flaws and bugs, it cannot really be recommended.
The Hunt For Red October (Grandslam) (Commodore 64)
A competently produced and polished, consolidated package.
Gotcha! (Kingsoft) (Commodore 64/128)
If you like making expensive mistakes, rush out and buy this. If you don't, take a very close look at it first.
Summer Camp (Thalamus) (Commodore 64/128)
The polished game design and a superb theme ensure that both the visuals and the playability provide nothing less than long term enjoyment.
Shadow Of The Beast (Ocean) (Commodore 64/128)
There won't be too many disappointed buyers of this... Eye-bulging graphics with amazing scrolling and some of the biggest guardians you'll meet on a C64!
It's very fast, very playable and very "one-more-go-ish". What more d'ya want? How about simultaneous two-player action? Yep - got that too!
