Deactivators (Reaktor/Activision)
A tough teat of time and reactions. Excellent features like twisted rooms, gravity changes and blacked-out rooms.
Not a bad arcade adventure with quite a lot to explore and find... but it does suffer from lack of originality by arriving in Batman's wake.
The vector graphics are quite nicely done and different grids require different strategies. It's brash, mindless, fast and furious - you'll love it.
The graphics are fun but the real key to the game's success is the addictive and demanding gameplay.
A wonderfully original concept with puzzles needing thought and good control.
Pro-Tennis (Loriciels/Activision)
Tough computer opponent... Helpful automatic option... More friendly and playable than Match Point.
You've always got plenty to do. No variety once you've learnt the mission.
Five-A-Side Soccer (Mastertronic)
Another game as miserably bad as this one and Mastertronic'll be right back to its reputation for producing cheap trash.
You'll laugh at the graphics on this one, weep at the waste of three quid and fall asleep over the gameplay.
The graphics are bad, the in-game sound is bad, the collision detection at bases is lousy, the gameplay is boring and, as licensing deals go, this is the worst.
Just sort of plods along... The name may suggest comparisons with Sorcery but the action very definitely doesn't.
The Vera Cruz Affair (Infogrames)
Takes a lot of getting into. I'm afraid even the most patient of detectives can only put up with 'addressee inapplicable' so many times before he hands in his badge.
Dazzlingly stupid... There may be some interesting puzzles in here, but nobody's going to have the patience to get anywhere with them.
The storyline looks good, and the pictures are every bit as good as we've come to expect.
I liked the idea of having to contact other spies for information, and the spaceship schedules caused additional challenging problems.
