Ninja Remix

Two years ago, The Last Ninja became a bit hit for System 3. The martial arts fighting, combined with a great plot and tasty gameplay, proved to be a popular choice with the discerning beat-'em-up game player. However, the follow-up, Last Ninja 2, wasn't very good at all. It rehashed the elements of the original and combined it with lousy control and overly intricate rock hopping. Now System 3 want to clear their name, and Ninja Remix is how they reckon Last Ninja 2 should have turned out.

Most elements of the game have been tweaked, revamped or re-written. Joystick control of the Ninja is a lot easier, making fighting and jumping considerably less trouble. The tunes have been revamped, though they're still boring internally generated ditties.

Gameplay has been considerably improved, although it's still very awkward when you try to pick something up. Ninja Remix is a considerably improvement on Last Ninja 2, but is that enough to warrant a £25 price tag?
