Firelady Plus Snakes And Ladders

The first is quite long and takes some time to load. Judging by the awkwardness of the instructions it was written by a couple of youngsters and viewed in that light it is a very creditable effort. I don't know why the main character is a "fire-lady", but due credit for including the girls in the heroism charts.

A block of flats is ablaze and you must climb ten floors to save an old man. You can play against the computer or another player and your movements are determined by dice. In fact, it's actually a revamped Snakes and Ladders - intelligently done, despite odd macabre moments. If you land on a smaller fire you must guess how many gallons of water are needed to extinguish, and you've saved someone's life so you gain another throw; a skull and crossbones, and you'll need a '6'; and of course there are ladders.

By the same authors, the second program, also long, is a bog-standard Snakes And Ladders.

Both games make good, colourful use of graphics, and are aimed squarely at the younger users.
