Trogue 64: Drain Of Doom (Wolfgang Bochar)
A perfectly serviceable Rogue-like which may scratch an itch for dedicated dungeon dwellers.
Endless Forms Most Beautiful (Rikib)
A cute and tough platformer with an impish sense of humour.
The Vice Squad (Psytronik/RGCD)
Miami Vice meets a horizontal Spy Hunter... A smooth scroller with lots of action and a variety of end-level opposition offering a notable challenge per level.
Tower Of Rubble (K&A)
Fun and challenging, but its repetitive nature means it's best confined to short bursts of play.
Platman Worlds (Psytronik)
A very good platform game whose flaws see it fall short of greatness.
Maze Of The Mummy (Psytronik)
A slick, but ultimately limited, puzzler. Initial enthusiasm wanes as the levels get trickier.
Games That Weren't: The Book
Speedball II Ultimate (Excess)
The ultimate version of the classic future sports games. Gorgeous static screens, access to the instructions and save games and fast loading from cartridge.
Mars (Psytronik)
This game is well set out but its lack of clear instructions is a problem. Eventually, the lack of clarity defeated me.
Old Tower (RetroSouls)
A quality looking game with crisp and cute graphics - addictive, but no longevity.
Fix It Felix Jnr. (Antonio Savona)
A superb conversion of a fun game, with longevity being its only shortcoming.
Counterweight Kate (Cogitaire Computing)
Cute, tough and one for brainiacs with hair left to tear out.
Millie & Molly (RGCD/Carleton Handley)
A cute but challenging puzzle game and a superb all-round package.
Vegetables Deluxe (Double Sided Games)
I prefer the new hi-res graphics and the addition of more game modes and in-game music over the original 16K release is very welcome... Quite possibly the best way to get your five-a-day.
Tristam Island (Hugo Labrande)
One of the most modern, in-depth, well-written and challenging text adventure experiences I've played in recent times.
The Curse Of Rabenstein (Stefan Vogt/Polyplay.xyz)
The perfect introduction into the world of text adventures.
Katabatia (Jeffrey Ouellette)
A little gem of a game... Fun to play, fun to explore and guaranteed to keep you coming back time and again for one more go.
MW Ultra (BitOps/Psytronik)
A fantastic action-platformer; challenging, enjoyable and polished to the nth degree.
Isle Of The Cursed Prophet (Psytronik/Icon64)
A dark, intriguing arcade adventure worthy of anyone's time.
Planet X2 v2.1 (Protovision)
A strategic game with a real challenge... This is definitely one I will go back to and play again, with a quick refresher in reading the manual.
Wonderland (RGCD/Avatar)
A nice little Zelda clone which could benefit hugely if tweaked and expanded.
