The Vice Squad (Psytronik/RGCD)

Miami Vice meets a horizontal Spy Hunter... A smooth scroller with lots of action and a variety of end-level opposition offering a notable challenge per level.

Tower Of Rubble (K&A)

Fun and challenging, but its repetitive nature means it's best confined to short bursts of play.

Platman Worlds (Psytronik)

A very good platform game whose flaws see it fall short of greatness.

Maze Of The Mummy (Psytronik)

A slick, but ultimately limited, puzzler. Initial enthusiasm wanes as the levels get trickier.

The ultimate version of the classic future sports games. Gorgeous static screens, access to the instructions and save games and fast loading from cartridge.

Mars (Psytronik)

This game is well set out but its lack of clear instructions is a problem. Eventually, the lack of clarity defeated me.

Cosmic Force (WavEm Studios)

Outrageous... A 1984 budget game costing ten to 33 times as much.

Swarm (Commocore)

An interesting but difficult RTS squeezed into 16K.

Boxy Moxy (Antonio Savona)

A competent puzzler worth a look despite its lack of originality.

Old Tower (RetroSouls)

A quality looking game with crisp and cute graphics - addictive, but no longevity.

Fix It Felix Jnr. (Antonio Savona)

A superb conversion of a fun game, with longevity being its only shortcoming.

Counterweight Kate (Cogitaire Computing)

Cute, tough and one for brainiacs with hair left to tear out.

Atic Atac (Saul Cross)

The definitive version of an all-time classic.

Millie & Molly (RGCD/Carleton Handley)

A cute but challenging puzzle game and a superb all-round package.

A well thought-out and programmed puzzler which will tax brains for ages.

Vegetables Deluxe (Double Sided Games)

I prefer the new hi-res graphics and the addition of more game modes and in-game music over the original 16K release is very welcome... Quite possibly the best way to get your five-a-day.

A tough game that hardened joystick junkies should enjoy.

A strategic game with a real challenge... This is definitely one I will go back to and play again, with a quick refresher in reading the manual.

A nice little Zelda clone which could benefit hugely if tweaked and expanded.

Zeta Wing (Protovision/Sarah Jane Avory)

A quality shmup that offers plenty for the itchy trigger finger... Seven challenging levels should satisfy any arcade junkie.
