Doomsday Castle (Fantasy) (Spectrum 48K)
Its superb graphics, sound and absorbing playability make it well worth the price. Highly recommended.
Neatly packaged, well documented, Scope is a slightly friendly bridge between the real world of invaders and galaxians and the innermost workings of the micro.
Lunar Jetman (Ultimate) (Spectrum 48K)
Full makes to Ultimate for a superb piece of programming!
Cassette 5 (Orwin) (Sinclair ZX81)
If you like arcade games in particular and you've already got cassette 4, then get cassette 5.
3D Grand Prix (DK Tronics) (Sinclair ZX81)
An excellent game for anyone with a 16K ZX81. The race lasts for five laps and believe me that's enough for anyone.
Ramlok Kit (Adapt Electronic) (Spectrum 16K)
I have found in use that the it does provide successful non-wobble connectors, although fixing on can be a bit tricky to people unknown to electronic assembly work.
Interspec (DCP Microdevelopments) (Sinclair ZX81/Spectrum 16K/48K)
A very useful tool for educational purposes and should prove an interesting accessory for computer and electronics hobbyists.
Pacific War (Cases) (Spectrum 48K)
Only just recommended. It could have been so much better with just a little more careful thought, and variety in play.
Castle Blackstar (SCR Adventures) (Spectrum 48K/128K)
An excellent adventure, especially for the beginner.
Learning To Read Music (Rose) (Spectrum 16K/48K)
A computer is no substitute for a piano and a good theory book is likely to be of equal value.
Whizz Quiz (Computertutor) (Spectrum 48K)
Nicely presented and fun for the home, but likely to be of less value within a classroom.
Spacewreck (Premier) (Spectrum 48K)
Expecting something of real educational value, I approached this program eagerly, but I was sadly disappointed.
Antony And Cleopatra (Akadimias) (Spectrum 48K)
Will undoubtedly be of considerable value to students using this set text.
First Aid (Eastmead Computer Systems) (Spectrum 48K)
Nice use of colour helps an all-text display but it is rather disconcerting at times to be told "Emergency help needed".
Garden Birds (Natsoft Programs) (Spectrum 48K)
You'd be better off spending your money on a RSGB Bird book which just lists all the birds - with illustrations!
Music Maker (Malan) (Spectrum 48K)
If you want something that, with a little patience, you could produce with beep statements, then maybe this will suffice.
Oh! P-Toon (Leon Noel) (Spectrum 48K)
Not many points for originality but I did like the graphics.
Signalman (IPS Canada) (Sinclair ZX81)
I would have liked the option to slow down the message transmission speed, as it is rather fast for the absolute beginner.
Speedsnake (IPS Canada) (Sinclair ZX81)
With practice, a very high score can be achieved, and the action is fast enough to challenge even experienced arcade game players.
Space Rescue (D. Pinch) (Sinclair ZX81)
A good idea, and quite good graphics too. It could still be developed to create a very good game.
Galaxy Jailbreak (Romik) (Sinclair ZX81)
Another good-quality action game from Romik Software. However, the game gets increasingly difficult to play as it progresses.
