Overview

Vindicators is a one or two player tank game.

Players must pick up fuel to stay alive and stars to customize their tanks. With these stars an arsenal of weapons and super powers may be purchased. Players can also select their starting points and are rewarded with a cache of stars for accepting a greater challenge.

The Game

Vindicators takes place in the year 2525 outside Galaxy TR 15. The mission is to intercept and destroy the invading forces from the evil Tangent Empire. The goal is to proceed through multi-level stations, securing each by demolishing its control centre. The weapon used is the SR-88 Strategic Battle Tank.

As team commanders of these SR-88 Strategic Battle Tanks, the players must face the invading forces from the Tangent Empire. The invaders have 14 space stations equipped with turrets and highly mobile armoured tanks that constantly patrol the Tangent's fortifications.

The SR-88 Battle Tanks are powerful but their fuel supply is very volatile. The players must constantly replenish their fuel supply by picking up fuel cannisters at the many levels of the stations. Battle stars are also found along the way which provide enhancements such as:

1. Increased shot range
2. Increased shot power
3. Increased shot speed
4. Force shields
5. Smart shots
6. Bomb cannons
7. Tank armour

Hints For Game Play

1. Force Shields reduce fuel loss.
2. Shooting other player transfers some of your fuel to them
3. Some Tangent Forces can only be destroyed by using special weapons.
4. Objects may be found under turrets.

High Scores

The High Score table lists the overall top fifteen scores with the player initials. If a player completes all 14 stations then he/she is rewarded with a FUEL BONUS, STAR BONUS and also a 100,000 POINT BONUS

If a player achieves one of the top 15 scores he/she has a time limit to enter his her using the joystick keyboard. Use Left/Right to select a letter and Fire to enter the letter. When all initials have been entered, the player will be shown the amended High Score table with his/her score and initials highlighted.

Game Controls

Z - Left, X - Right, Q - Up, A - Down, SHIFT - Fire
C - Fire Special Weapon, B - Swap Special Weapon

The tanks are controlled using joystick and keyboard. Normal joystick controls apply.

If player one is on keys and player two is on joystick, player two also requires the following keyboard controls:

Enter - Fire Special Weapon, P - Swap Special Weapon

To pick up fuel and stars just drive your tank over them.
