Pokemon Red/Blue (Nintendo)

Lots of monsters, but similar, very simple, games. Still, Pokemon is really a unique gaming experience.

Pokemon Pinball (Nintendo)

Frankly, a bit of a disappointment. With just two tables to play on, the variety isn't as good as games like Hollywood Pinball with its range of tables.

R-Type DX (Nintendo)

Simply marvellous! It looks good in black and white, but lawks-a-lordy, it really zings in colour...!

Klax (Midway)

I'm afraid this is a game for temporary boredom relief, or pure nostalgia only.

Paperboy (Midway)

The challenge of Paperboy has always been a trifle vague, but on the Game Boy Color this is even more true. Even on the easiest street avoiding the multiplicity of hazards is made laughable by the tiny graphics.

Moon Patrol/Spy Hunter (Midway)

It's a decent compilation, but two old games don't make one new one!

WWF Attitude (Acclaim)

The best wrestler on the Game Boy Color!

Spy Vs. Spy (Vatical Entertainment)

The game has a sly sense of humour, top tunes, and the cool colour graphics are so detailed that you'll be puzzling away until doomsday.

Maya The Bee (Acclaim)

The graphics are really tiny, you have to strain to see them on the Game Boy screen, but their size is also their charm.

Prince Of Persia (Red Orb Entertainment)

A true Prince amongst games...! The satisfaction of holding the entire original game in your hand cannot be discounted.

Bust-A-Move 4 (Acclaim)

This is a game perfectly suited to the Game Boy Color and one which everybody who buys Nintendo's handheld should own.

All-Star Baseball 2000 (Acclaim)

It's fun, has got some great game-playing depth, and is so easy to pick up and get to grips with.

F1 World Grand Prix (Video System)

Talk about all show and no go - while F1 is a joy to behold, the playability just sucks... Why doesn't anyone realise racing games don't work on the Game Boy?

Lucky Luke (Infogrames)

Luke handles well, grappling sombrero-wearing bad guys, shooting bottles and even gallivanting around on a stagecoach whilst Indians take pot shots.

Legend Of The River King (Natsume)

This should be commended for trying something different... but you really do need the patience of a saint to play through to the end of the adventure.NEU

Obelix (Infogrames)

It might only be a platform game but it's a good platform game and that's what we like.

NBA In The Zone (Konami)

You'd do better buying a real hoop and ball than getting this.

NHL: Blades Of Steel (Konami)

If you're looking for a decent Hockey game, this ain't it despite all the frills. A shame.

NFL Blitz (Midway)

Everything an American football game should be... and you can have the pleasure of carrying it around in full colour too.

Chessmaster (Mindscape)

Not too bad at all we say, you've just got to have a brain to appreciate it!
