Something of a greatest hits collection of ideas from Ubisoft's other open world games but it also has some fun new ideas of its own... as well as a mountain of glitches and microtransactions.
This has got to be the breaking point for Ubisoft's open world design by committee. I loved infiltrating bases, but everything surrounding that is a pain. Maybe, just maybe, not every game needs to be open world? Maybe not every game needs a gear score? Sometimes simplicity is key.
What a mess. Between its technical issues, repetitive gameplay, sub-par gear system and sinister microtransactions, this is probably the worst open-world live service game so far. Whilst its technical issues may well be patched up, the base game will still remain one of the most soulless experiences I've ever played.
