As you gazed around at the polished brasses and gleaming woodwork you could not help but wonder at the tales this small inn could tell ... it jest seemed to "ooze" atmosphere and you could somehow sense that many an adventure had been hatched over any one of the small dark timber tables that now graced the small but cosy room.
Money had been a bit scarce in recent years but a small "windfall", in the form of a legacy from a recently departed uncle, had meant that you had been able to book yourself a short holiday in the lovely part of Cornwall in which you were now staying. However, there had not been that much money and you had to content yourself with visiting most of the places that did not demand too much in the way of entrance fees ... such as the local museum and the quaint little fishing village a few miles down the road. It was there that you had first met your companion of today and it was there that you had arranged today's meeting.
" ... It is said that the night was rough and the seas high when she first rounded the headland and many of the local folk felt sure she was destined to join old Davey Jones at the bottom of the sea. However, her crew struggled manfully with her rigging and brought her about just in time to miss the dreaded "needles". Suddenly there was a lull in the storm and she managed to get her head around to face the open sea ... They say it was a fine sight as she turned, sails a'billowing, but fate casts a strange hand at times and the storm rose up again just as quickly as it had first abated. Tossed like a cork on the dark waters she was last seen breaching a bank of thick sea mist." My companion picked up his tankard and took a long swig ... "So you see, she could still be out there to this day, just waiting for some lucky so-and-so to find her and the riches she contains."
Can you find the missing galleon and can you discover the means to rid her of her cargo of golden doubloons ... Only time will tell! Time and your own ability to solve puzzles.
As with any Laurence Creighton game, this one will recognise all the usual type of command such as EXAMINE, SEARCH, DROP, TAKE, etc. It will also recognise the use of RAM SAVE and RAM LOAD to store and recall a game position, but always use the more standard SAVE and LOAD to make a more permanent record on tape.

It has been completely re-drawn from scratch but nonetheless it is based extensively on this original piece of artwork.
