The controls for each part of the lesson are outlined on the screen. However, it is a very good idea to work with the BBC User Guide and a pencil and paper to experiment with the illustrative programs.
When listing out the programs which take up more than one page, first hold down the CTRL key and type N then type LIST and the program will appear one screen at a time - press the SHIFT key to turn to the next page of the program.
To return to 'scroll mode' hold down the CTRL key whilst briefly pressing the 0.
The REM statements (useful comments within the listing of a program explaining what the program does) introduce ideas on how to alter the example programs in the lesson. If you wish to alter the example programs, turn to page 29 of the User Guide for instructions on how to use the screen editor.
Once the alterations have been made then just type RUN to display the program. Using the BREAK key at any time allows you to exit from the program and auto-loads the next part of the lesson. By the end of the lesson you should be in much greater control of the computer and able to manipulate the graphics commands with increased confidence.
Tape: CHAIN"" (RETURN)
