Most of us enjoy a good 'sing-song', even if it is only on the way home from a night of revelry - when the words are a touch indistinct and the tune a bit wobbly - but few of us sing as much as we did when we were children. Then a great part of our play was spent in the company of 'song' and many of the songs we sung then have remained in our memories ever since.
One such song must surely be 'Ten Green Bottles' - which of us can admit to never having belted out the words of that particular little ditty. It was sung at parties (the ones with those 'watery' jellies and 'turned-up' sandwiches) it was warbled at 'bath-time' and it was belted out around the camp-fire. So now is your chance to recall that melody and partake in an adventure based upon those famous little bottles - albeit rather loosely.
Something weird was happening in the tiny hamlet of Bottleton and the only person who might be able to cast some light on the subject was the local Mayor - as he was in the process of asking for 'volunteers' to replace the bottles that they had recently broken when playing their own particular version of Ten Green Bottles. So it could be deemed a wise move if you were to make your way to his mayoral residence and have a few words with him concerning the matter.
The object of your quest is to locate sufficient bottles to replace the ones the locals have already smashed - I've already had words with the Mayor so I already know just what has to be done - a simple enough task at first sight but one that you might find will call for some cunning, dexterity and careful planning before the day is out.
Use the commands RAMSAVE and RAMLOAD to make a record of your progress as you play through the game but always resort to using the standard SAVE and LOAD when it comes time to make some sort of permanent record to tape or disk.
A record of the number of bottles you have discovered will be shown on the screen as the description of each 'location' is printed up on screen, so you should not have any bother remembering just how well (or badly) you have done.
Don't forget to introduce yourself to the Mayor - a simple HELLO could suffice. A 'bowl' and a 'pole' - when joined as one - can come in very, very useful at times. Not all 'buttons' are in clear sight - so feel around and you never know your luck.
