Upon starting, you will be shown the locations of the Crystals, but it is very rarely possible to go direct. You may even have to go to different levels to get back.
Use N, S, E, W for directions, and U and D for Up and Down.
For operations, use either one, two or three words such as APPROACH, RECRUIT ELF, WAVE STAFF, RUB GLASS BALL, etc, etc. Use other words used in conjunction such as TAKE, DROP, LOOK, EAT, DRINK, THROW, READ, etc, etc.
The following commands will also be useful:
APPROACH (f0)
Always Approach when a character appears.
FIGHT (f1)
If a character is hostile, you must fight. You can always fight before approaching though, which will use less strength owing to the element of surprise!
RECRUIT (f2)
If a character is friendly you may recruit strengthen your party.
ABANDON
Abandon weaker members of your party to be able to recruit more powerful ones.
MAP (f3)
This shows the map of where you have been. O no stairs. U stairs up. D stairs down. B stairs up and down. Current position is always shown in centre of screen, which means if you examine different parts of a level the resulting split map may go off the screen.
TAKE (f4)
You can take (pick up) any article.
DROP (f5)
And of course drop anything you wish.
LOOK (f6)
Enables you to look for things.
INVENTORY (f7)
Displays all your possessions at the time.
BRIBE (f8)
You can try and bribe characters to join your party, but only with money.
SELL (f9)
As treasure and objects use strength in carrying, you can offer them to passing characters who may make you an offer. If accepted, they pay in cash, but you may get a better offer elsewhere!
SILENCE/MUSIC
This turns the sound either off or on.
SAVE
This command saves your current game to tape.
RESTORE
This will load a previously saved game for you to continue, enabling you to play one to its end.
CHAIN"" (RETURN)
The following utilities are also available to allow you to edit the supplied screens of this game:
