The above represents a typical scan. The sector you are in is represented by the centre group of three figures and the neighbouring sectors by the other groups of three figures.
In the above example, you are told that in your sector there are two Klingons, Zero Starbases and four Stars. Their exact position will be shown on the automatic short range scan.
When using Warp Drive (1) enter the distance you wish to travel (each sector measures eight units), (2) enter your course this being any angle from 0 - 360

Before launching the torpedoes, enter your course in the same way as for warp drive. The torpedo will continue in that direction until it scores a hit or comes to the edge of a sector.
