Legends Of Valour (U. S. Gold)

Not so much a role-playing game, more a virtual reality experience. A good game, but not quite a classic.

The Patrician (Ascon)

A bit of a weird one. A gigantic trading adventure with colourful graphics and absorbing gameplay. It needs a great deal of patience, time and effort from you as a gamesplayer, so if you have all of these qualities, knock yourself out.

Ancient Art Of War In The Skies (Microprose)

At last, a war simulation which you don't need a degree in Advanced Physics to play. The combat sequences are simplistic, but highly effective while the strategy element is rewarding enough to tempt the most sceptical shoot-'em-up addict.

Nicky 2 (Microids)

The game looks good and plays pretty fast although some of the sound samples seem to have been ripped straight out of Lemmings. Incredibly easy to die though.

Fire Force (ICE)

If you're into armchair violence, then Fire Force is what you've been waiting for. What really lets the game down as the sprites which wouldn't look out of place on an 8-bit and the controls with plague the gameplay.
