This is the pits. Another fine graphical effort from Mr Swinbourne, but a poor attempt at a game. Shame really.
A straightforward blast which won't give you brainache in the gameplay department. It may not be anything revolutionary, but you won't regret giving it a bash.
It's certainly to be avoided unless you're very very sure you can't wait until something better comes along, like a bus.
Jocky Wilson's Darts Challenge (Zeppelin)
Corpulent Darts Star in Successful Licence Shock. A super bargain. Smashing. Lovely.
A perfectly reasonable game idea, horribly let down by some truly ridiculous flaws. The eternal re-loading is farcical, the controls for the Street section irritating and there are other annoying inconsistencies.
Incredible Shrinking Sphere (Electric Dreams)
Unplayable, badly scrolled, poorly executed heap constructed about a nice game idea.
It's decently programmed and looks nice, but moves too fast for you to feel that you're really in control of what's happening.
Human Killing Machine (US Gold)
OK, there isn't anything new here but if you lurved Street Fighter you'll almost certainly lurve this. The graphics may even be slightly better and some of the moves are different.
Surprisingly, though the initial impression is poor, there's plenty of slam-bang action and enough mega-violence to keep you happy until the next coin-op conversion comes along.
If you like the cringemaking Magnetic Scrolls sense of humour, you'll probably enjoy Fish; but it seems to me that the plot doesn't hang together as well as previous offerings.
Excellently programmed, provides a few laughs along with the mayhem, and manages to offend everyone, so it can't be bad.
International Speedway (Silverbird)
A lot of old tosh. You'd have to be mad to spend even 20p on it.
Even being a budget game these days doesn't really excuse such a ropey and unappealing game structure as this.
Treasure Island Dizzy (Codemasters)
It's not great to look at, it's average to play and the lead character isn't the most luvvable shipmate in the seven seas.
