Neither the energy nor score is shown on the screen... Sinbad cannot be highly recommended. Read Review
Virgin advertise Sinbad as 'fun for all the family'. My three-year-old certainly enjoyed it, but I wasn't inspired to try for 100 per cent. Read Review
Virgin has described this game admirably with its title. Read Review
It's not a bad game, sort of middle of the road, which probably accounts for the beasties having that squashed look. Read Review
One of the dullest games I've ever seen for the Beeb. Read Review
Lacks lasting interest and my guess is that it won't wear very well because of the sheer impossibility of later stages. Read Review
The game doesn't live up to its inlay. A great pity because the idea behind the game is very good. The graphics aren't bad either. Read Review
The idea's quite novel - but the game quickly becomes boring. Read Review
All things considered, it's a reasonable game but is aimed at the younger end of the market. Read Review
Remove your weary fingers from the fire buttons and climb aboard your magic carpet to enjoy this delightful and original game.
In this highly novel program that will delight all the family, you must run, jump and climb onto your magic carpet in pursuit of your ultimate goal. But beware - the higher you go, the harder you may fall, undoing all your efforts to convert your enemies to a peaceful way of life.
Please don't tread on the spiders. And those snakes don't look too friendly either!!
A unique feature of this game is its skill/time matching intelligence. This facility will allow you to proceed on your journey through space for a time period matched to your previous adventure. Thus, an adept player can proceed to his next adventure at a faster pace than a beginner.
What percentage of Sinbad's voyage can you complete? If Sinbad can complete his entire journey, what will his reward be?!
To begin Sinbad's voyage, you must convert all Sinbad's enemies to a peaceful way of life. To do this, he must touch them, either from the rope ladder or the Magic Carpet itself. When they are all touched they will change colour. You must change them all to proceed to the next screen. However, it is not quite that easy! If Sinbad touches one of his converted enemies they still possess enough malice to knock him off his ladder (or carpet). Therefore Sinbad will have to keep moving on his ladder or carpet!
If you clear the first screen then you proceed on Sinbad's journey through space. Sitting on his magic carpet he flies just above the Earth's atmosphere. Unfortunately, at this distance from Earth there are numerous asteroid belts to contend with. You must avoid these asteroids when they are large enough to do you damage.
Also, flying too high or into the atmosphere will drain your energy. To help you navigate Sinbad, the Space bar may be used as a brake. If too much energy is lost in this part of the journey, Sinbad can proceed no further!
Note: Your space voyage will take as long as Sinbad took to complete his previous adventure; this facility should encourage Sinbad to refine his tactics!
This is only a small part of Sinbad's journey. Every time he uses his magic to change things he will journey a little further (if he is careful of the asteroids). The tasks set for Sinbad and the hazards he encounters get harder as the game goes along.
Note: Sinbad may encounter snakes, spiders, etc. We will leave it to you to find out the effect they have!
There is a surprise reward if you complete the journey!
Your score will be a percentage of the whole journey.
