Choose a pair of odd and a pair of even numbers between 1 and 9. Using only these numbers, but in any way you like, can you make sums to total between 1 and 20. That's the challenge of this game. With each correct sum, points are awarded and part of a hidden picture is revealed. More correct sums give a higher score and show more picture, but a point is knocked off for every second you play. Stop the game at any stage to guess the picture. If you guess correctly, the game finishes and the total score is noted. If it's an incorrect guess then the game continues. By using this tape, you will discover why it is called Signals.
Test your skills in speed arithmetic with this program based on magic squares. A magic square is a set of numbers whose horizontal, vertical and diagonal lines add up to the same number. The computer chooses a magic square that will suit your abilities and displays it on the screen with some numbers missing. The total is given, the clock starts and the game begins. If you complete the square quickly and correctly, the computer promotes you, rewarding you with a few chords of a fanfare. Perhaps you need more practice at the same level: the computer displays another square of similar difficulty for you. The ultimate in Magic is to be the Grand Master Class Impossible and hear the complete fanfare!
Both Signals and Magic are Basic programs and the normal loading procedures can be used: e.g. CHAIN"SIGNALS"
If a disc interface is fitted, type *TAPE and press RETURN first.
