The idea of the game is to beat your opponent - either the computer, in single player option or a friend in two player option. Points are awarded on a style/complexity basis. Different attacks receive different points, a perfect contact can receive the maximum of 1,000 points and an animated skull will appear.
At the end of your game you will be given an overall game rating. This ranges from "Peasant" at the lower level to "Shaolin Master" at the highest level. We will let you find out all the levels in between.
Note: Certain moves reduce your energy.
After completion of the main bout, you will progress to the Corridor of Death. Your objective in this screen is to score as many bonus points as possible with a given amount of energy.
To become a master of the game you will need to learn the effective ranges of each move and also which moves will counter your opponent's moves most efficiently. This will come with experience.
In the Corridor of Death, it is easier to duck objects rather than jump them.
We hope you will enjoy Shaolin Master Plus - the nearest you can get to true kung fu with no fear of injury!!
Normal left, right, up and down joystick movements apply.
A total of fourteen fighting moves are available.
Up-Left - Forward Somersault, Up-Right - High Punch
Down-Left - Back Somersault, Down-Right - Low Punch (in kneeling position)
Left - Medium Kick, Right - Turn Around, Up - Drop Kick, Down - Forward Leg Sweep
Up-Left - High Kick, Up-Right - High Back Kick
Down-Left - Low Kick, Down-Right - Back Leg Sweep
With some experimentation you will soon get the hang of it. Note that the controls in the Corridor of Death are slightly different:
Fire-Up - Drop Kick
Fire-Up-Right - High Kick
Fire-Right - Medium Kick
Fire-Left-Down - Low Kick
Fire-Down - Leg Sweep
1/2/3/4/M/C - Colour Green/Yellow/Blue/Red/Mono/Colour (Default)
P - Pause On/Off, S - Sound On/Off
BREAK - Abandon Game
400 points are awarded for every object you hit.
Every time you are hit, your energy will be reduced.
