This 64K game has three screens.
Screen OneYou must avoid contact with Blutis who is actively pursuing you.
You must also be careful of the old, ugly sea women who will appear and chuck empties at you. Either avoid the flying bottles or punch them (with the Fire button) to keep from being knocked into the water.
Screen Two
The second screen objective is to collect enough notes to play Elsie a little love
song. You may jump off and onto the other end of Wimpo's teeter - totter to fly up a
deck and even two decks if you manage to catch hold of Sleepie's grab handles. Time it
right and away you go.
Screen Three
The third screen objective is to collect enough letters to complete a ladder all the
way to the Crow's Nest were Elsie is calling you. Beware of the crow!
On all screens, eating a can of collard greens (labelled 'S' and grasped by punching the can just right) will give you amazing speed, strength and agility and allow you to send Blutis into the drink with a single punch.
Note: If the hearts, musical notes or letters are allowed to lie at the bottom of the screen for too great or a period of time, you will expire.
Space/Fire Button - Pause/Restart
H - View High Score Table
BREAK - Quit
CLEAR - Options Menu
If you have pressed CLEAR from the demonstration screen, you are now looking at the list of parameters which you may set in order to make Sailor Man more interesting.
Use the up/down arrow keys to move the cursor up and down.
Press S to toggle the screen scrolls (between screens) on and off.
Press M to toggle the music on and off.
All options are self-explanatory, except 'Inviso Screen'. This screen must be seen to be believed - so we won't tell you any more about it!
You may start out on any screen you wish at any difficulty level (9 is the hardest) with any number (1-9) of Sailor Men available to accomplish the task. Starting with any more than three will prevent you from entering your name in the High Score table.
Good luck and happy spinach eating!!!
