Lotus III: The Ultimate Challenge (Gremlin)

Graphics move a little jerkily at times, but the overall animation is crisp and convincing.

Shadoworlds (Krisalis)

If it captures your imagination, go for it, but it doesn't go down as one of the all-time greats.

Tiny Skweeks (Loriciel)

An engaging enough puzzler.

Ween (Coktel Vision)

On the graphic and sonic front you can't fault Ween. Yet the whole thing really is too bizarre for words.

Amberstar (Thalion)

A rather old-fashioned RPG which lacks the atmosphere and intensity of Ishar. Despite this, it's incredibly addictive.

Magic Worlds (Daze)

A brilliant compilation with a bit of something for every taste, provided you like role-playing games of course.

Striker (Rage)

An excellent game, with more of an arcade feel than its rivals. It's smooth, realistic and very playable.

Switchblade II (GBH Gold)

Slick and smart. The whole thing's terribly playable and packed with chunky addictive goodness.

Super Cars 2 (GBH Gold)

Long term you're likely to tire of it, but for a quick buzz on a quiet afternoon, Super Cars II is hard to beat.

World Championship Boxing Manager (GBH)

A stunning idea. Take a footy management game, throw out the footy and insert a couple of prizefighters instead. The most amazing thing is that it works.

Jahangir Khan's World Championship Squash (GBH)

A decent enough number. Once you've got into the swing of things it's jolly good fun battling around the place and accidentally jumping in front of your opponent at difficult moments.

Blue Lightning (Atarisoft)

There's no finer advertisement for the Lynx than Blue Lightning. It's one seriously excellent testosterone blastorama. Load, lock and unleash.

Robo-Squash (Atarisoft)

It's an exciting game and the gameplay is surprisingly fluid... There are amusing touches within the game too.

Scrapyard Dog (Atarisoft)

A game to get your teeth into, but only if you're the type who really gets excited by platform action.

Rampage (Atarisoft)

This really isn't that much cop, though you're likely to find it's alright - but nothing more - for a while.

Hard Drivin' (Atarisoft)

The graphics are pretty, the idea's good, but it's all completely screwed up by the control system. Avoid it like the plague.

Bill And Ted's Excellent Adventure (Atarisoft)

What a let down this is... Given a licence with a reputation like this, a brilliant game could have been produced - complete with radical samples - but no, what you get is a dreadfully dreary affair.

Maths Helper (Page 6 PD)

These programs aren't really for the novice and, unless you're involved in actually doing your maths homework or maths is a serious hobby, this disk is unlikely to be much use to you - but if you're in the know it's the biz.

Printing Press (Nightshift PD)

This is a great print utility, although unfortunately you do need at least 1MByte of RAM and a mono monitor.

Equatorial Atlas (Goodmans PD)

A sky mapping program which displays the night sky as you can see it from either the northern hemisphere... and works in medium resolution.

Utils 1 (Budgie PD)

A mixed bag with something for everyone.

Early Learning Maths 2 (Budgie PD)

The whole thing is well-presented and rather slick - definitely one of the better educational efforts.

Scool Not School (Goodmans PD)

The spelling and maths sections are pitched towards the very young, while some of the other sections are likely to take a bit more savvy.

Play Spell (Floppyshop)

A full-blown, ex-commercial, platform game. Good for a bit.

Workout Revision Aid (Goodmans PD)

This disk is probably most interesting if you want to design your own puzzle or quiz, otherwise it is not really much use.

Unnkulian Underworld (LAPD)

Sacks of humour and immensely playable. As a text adventure, obviously it does looks terrible. But it feels terrific.

The Wiz (Dunce Cap)

Good clean fun... The Wiz is definitely a progression from Mindlock and makes it a little easier for the more determined funster.

F-16 And B-17 (Floppyshop)

B-17 is a variation on that decrepit old Blitz thing, where your plane flies left to right across the screen and, when it wraps around the screen, it drops down a level. F-16 is a bit more involved.

Mindlock (Goodmans PD)

A quaint and freshly attractive game which politely charms rather than wildly impresses. Ideal for quiz maniacs.
