S-Pascal ist eine Untergruppe von Pascal und gehört damit zu einer der beliebtesten und gebräuchlichsten Programmiersprachfamilien überhaupt.
Acornsoft S-Pascal unterstüzt ganzzahlige, Zeichen- und boolesche Typen und mehrdimensionale Bereiche (arrays). Es weist Blockstruktur auf und ist vollkommen rekursiv.
Dieses Software-Paket richtet sich an Benutzer, die einigermaßen mit BASIC vertraut sind, und Interesse haben, sich in strukturierte Programmierung einzuarbeiten.
S-Pascal eignet sich anßerdem ganz besonders zum Schreiben von kurzen, schnellen. Hilfsprogrammen, da direkt in 6502 Maschinencode kompiliert wird. Die auf der Kassette verfügbaren Bibliotheksprogramme vereinfachen Graphikanwendungen und ermöglichen den Gebrauch von Betriebssystembefehlen innerhalb von S-Pascal-Programmen.
