As adults we spend our leisure time indulging in such pursuits as "sport", "reading" and "watching to" - none of which we ever took part in as toddlers. In those days we had to content ourselves with being at the mercy of well-meaning aunties who would fill our heads with lurid tales of "murder", "violence" and "cruelty" that went under the guise of fairy tales or nursery rhymes. Some of them were enough to give you nightmares for the rest of your childish years!!!
This game features a number of these "nursery rhymes", or at least it does in as much as it stars many of their famous characters.
During the game you will come across such luminaries as "Little Miss Muffet" (remember that damn spider!!), "Tom-Tom The Piper's Son", "Wee Willie Winkie" and even "Humpty Dumpty" himself.
It will be up to you to use these characters and their own peculiar "abilities" to solve the puzzles of the game and allow you to carry out all the necessary actions your task demands of you.
News of your success in previous encounters and of your tenacity when it comes to bringing villains to their knees, has spread far and wide. And now it seems that your "talents" are once more in demand.
The letter-box rattles and you look up from your bowl of "Nutts and Things" with the look of a "semi-interested party". Plodding your way to the front hall you peer into the dark and notice an envelope lying on the doormat. Is it the great "pools win" you have always dreamt of or is it just another of those demands for your money that seem to drop on to the mat with such regularity???
You open the letter and the next great adventure begins to take form...
This game will recognise all the standard commands - so don't bother asking what they are as they are the same as the last time you asked - with the exception of some very good and comprehensive LOOK commands. Use the following to assist you in your task ...
LOON - Look On, LOOV - Look Over, LOTH - Look Through, LOBE - Look Behind, LIN - Look In and LUND - Look Under. Eg. LOTH WINDOW or LOBE CABINET or LOOV WALL will all work well.
Feel free to save your game position to memory by using the RAM routines. However, always resort to the standard SAVE and LOAD (to tape or disk) when it comes to making a permanent record of your progress!!!
Spectrum 128K only. Use Loader from the Main Menu.
