For centuries a mysterious civilization, hidden somewhere in the Andromeda nebula, has secretly ruled the destiny of the universe. It has overthrown Kings and tipped the balance of wars throughout the galaxy. Now, the last traces of its existence have been found in the shipwrecked Andromeda on the asteroid Bassard.
Something about this story rings a bell as far as our hero Phantomas is concerned. He faintly remembers that this mysterious Andromeda civilization is the key to his own existence, and that he was born in a factory within Andromeda. An Android Factory. Moving to his transporter, Phantomas hyperspaces to a barren blue planetoid close to Bassard and launches himself towards the asteroid. He lands in the middle of a huge rocky gorge on its grassy, phosphorous surface, and looks up to see the image he fuzzily remembered in his dreams...
The factory, illuminated by a blue halo of light against a starry, cynaide atmosphere. This is the place that concealed the beginning of the Universe's best kept mystery. A deep rumble of ancient wind echoes between the threatening mountains. Phantomas does not waver. He clenches his fists and moves toward his destination.
In the role of Phantomas, you must destroy the Android Factory, activating the ten devices to commence self-destruction of the building. These devices are located in inaccessible places and each needs a key to be activated. Your task is therefore to find 10 keys and activate each one of the 10 devices. Once all are activated, you have half a minute to run out of the factory. After this time, it will be blown sky-high!
The location of the ten bolts and keys vary from one game to another. Keys collected appear on the status bar beneath "KEYS". To pick up a key simply pass over it. To use a key in a lock, you just have to walk up to it: as long as you have a key, the lock will disappear and the key will disappear. The number of devices currently activate is shown beneath "BOLTS". When this number reaches 10, you must return all the way to the beginning of the game to be well clear of the factory!
The factory is full of Androids who patrol the platforms and will drain your energy on contact. Your currently energy is displayed on the status bar beneath the word "LIFE".
