Crossfire (Sierra On-Line) (Commodore 64)
A simple concept which, at first sight, appears to be a doddle. Take my word, it's not as easy as it looks and it keeps you coming back for more.
Bonka (J. Morrison Micros) (Commodore 64)
A series of platforms are linked by ladders. Again, simple but insomnia-inducing.
Everest Ascent (Richard Shepherd) (Commodore 64/128)
This is an enjoyable exercise in logistics with a yeti thrown in for good measure though it's not a true adventure.
Road Toad (Audiogenic) (Commodore 64)
A very competent version of a classic, though some colours are not so hot and don't show some objects to best advantage.
Laser Strike (Isis Hathor) (Commodore 64)
This game does what it does reasonably well but there's not much to it.
Worth seeing for its speed and presentation, but low on long term appeal.
The graphics are very nice, smooth (albeit super-fast) movement across the screen, the odd sound effect - all this is great, but... the game only ever gets harder, nothing else changes.
The game doesn't look like it would have too much long-lasting appeal, but in keeping with the events it portrays it's good fun while it lasts.
It absorbed me for one or two plays but lacked the humour, complexity or other features that some simulations have.
