Kids will love this game, and I would certainly add it to my collection. Pete himself is dressed in a colourful suit, complete with scarf and braces, and the programmer has even taken the trouble to put a shine on his shoes. Read Review
Smashing graphics... Only lacks variation, the different levels leading to more of the same rather than great changes of concept. Read Review
This is brilliant...! The key response is very good and the movement of the Wibblies and screen layout have been carefully thought out. Read Review
Having problems loading this game? The second file "PETE1" pauses for approximately one minute before loading continues. This will result in the start of the next sequential file "PETE2" being skipped. When this happens, simply select "Rewind Tape" and reload from the beginning of "PETE2".
Due to the worldwide shortage of wheat, Paranoid Pete - the intrepid space farmer - has travelled to the planet Owwayondah in an effort to grow new crops and send them back to earth.
The game starts when Paranoid Pete is beamed onto the Planet surface. He then has to plant the wheat seeds as they fall from the USS Harvester. This is achieved by digging directly underneath the falling seed with the spade and then filling the hole in, but it is not quite that easy as the planet has been infested with Mega-wibblies, "the greediest little critters in the universe", and Pete has to defend himself and his crops by giving the Mega-wibblies a sound bash on the head with his spade.
Once his plant(s) have been successfully grown, the arm of the ever-friendly Ubik-Droid collects the wheat and takes it up into the USS Harvester for processing.
Subsequently, Pete is beamed back on-board to ensure everything runs smoothly - because the Mega-wibblies have materialised on-board and are intent on destroying Pete's cargo of Ubik-Wheat. Pete has to successfully process eight boxes of Ubik-Wheat for every plan grown to gain access to the next level of play. With two highly colourful game screens, three lives and five levels of increasing difficult play, can *you* help Paranoid Pete to save the world, or will the Mega-wibblies have you and the Ubik-Wheat for breakfast?
