Micro Budget enables you to edit, review and analyse income and expenses for twelve separate months.
To move through the months, you can use N (next month), P (previous month) and M followed by a number to jump to a specified month.
To move through the entries for a month, use L to list the next twelve entries, F to find the next free entry, / to jump to a specified entry and Cursor Up and Cursor Down to move up and down entries.
Each entry should be followed by a code. This code can be up to five characters long and if the fifth character is an @ it will be ignored for analysis purposes. The codes are used for the analysis section of the program. When an analysis mode is selected you will be asked for a code. This code is then matched with all the codes in the specified months and any matching ones will be included in the analysis. E.g. if the entries have the codes ABC, ACB, ABCD, AED, CABC and CABD, an analysis with code AB would pick out entries ABC and ABCD, whereas code A would analyse ABC, ABC ABCD and AED.
The analysis modes are S to analyse just the current month, B to analyse the current month to a specified month and D to analyse all twelve months. The results of the analysis are placed in month 13.
Other commands that are available are G to save the data to tape, R to read in data from tape, C to zeroise the current month, K to zeroise month 13, Z to zeroise all 13 months, I to turn the printer on and 0 to turn it off, and X to return to Basic.
Entries can be modified by re-entering the line and income amounts should be entered as negative amounts.
is a very powerful program but you need to have a well-thought out code system to get the most out of it.
