Live the life of a true folk hero in Rafal Miazga's Janosik as you take control of Eastern Europe's equivalent of Robin Hood.

Use a combination of your trusty axe and your wits to make it through a dangerous landscape populated with hostile enemies both human and animal.

Push on to the enemy stronghold to finally rescue your sweetheart from the clutches of evil in this exciting action platformer very much in the tradition of other ZX Spectrum favourites like Hunchback and Herbert's Dummy Run.

Instructions

Janosik has been holding up noblemen's carriages and tax collection vehicles as they pass through his forest home for many years now and the powerful government forces in the area have decided to punish him severely. Unable to catch him or beat him in combat with their patrols, they have decided to strike him in the heart.

They have seized his beautiful lover, Maryna, and are holding her in a cell in the castle dungeons as bait for Janosik. Hoping that he will come to her rescue, they have positioned many guards between his forest home and the castle.

They have also burned large stretches of deep woodland in their search for Janosik, driving many of the wild animals out into the less densely wooded areas in confusion and fear. The once peaceful residents of the forest which Janosik once lived alongside are now dangerous, hostile creatures.

Battle through each screen from left to right to reach the next, always one step closer to rescuing your loved one. Wreak havoc upon the government soldiers, guards and informants who you will find on your journey and use your physical skills to traverse the many obstacles in your path. Good luck in your quest, the poor people of the land and Maryna are depending on you!

Game Controls

You can choose either keyboard or Sinclair/Kempston joysticks. The keyboard controls are as follows:

O - Left, P - Right, Q - Jump, SPACE - Swing Axe
