Linked reviews are available to view in full on this site.
St. George And The Dragons (CRL) (Dragon 32)
Good graphics... The levels of difficulty are well balanced, and I enjoyed playing it.
Monster Mine (Gem) (Dragon 32)
Monster Mine is addictive and enjoyable and suitable for almost any age.
Planet Invasion (Microdeal) (Dragon 32)
Very entertaining and highly motivating: if you like arcade games, buy it.
Donkey King (Microdeal) (Dragon 32)
I was immensely impressed with its excellent use of the Dragon's colour hi-res graphics and sound facilities.
It could appeal to golfing enthusiasts, but not a game that had lasting appeal for me.
Educational - 1B (Golem) (BBC/Electron)
Entertaining enough to keep young children's attention and well-designed enough to help them learn while enjoying themselves.
Educational - 2B (Golem) (BBC/Electron)
Area is well-designed, but a little too slow in supplying the answers to problems.
Simple Arithmetic (Camel) (Spectrum 48K)
A useful maths aid, but could do with better instructions.
Integration/Matrix Operations/Linear Programming/Regression (University Software) (Spectrum 48K)
Packaged with books to teach the subjects they cover, could potentially be used for teaching... But they would need better screen prompts.
If I was allowed loose in a laboratory the program warned me of my almost certain demise, and this added an extra dimension of interest.
Elem Add/Sub/Multiply/Divide (Cottage) (Spectrum 48K)
Although quite pleasing, the program has a number of drawbacks.
Space Zombies (Mikro-Gen) (Spectrum 16K/48K)
About the only use I can conceive for Space Zombies is as an introduction to space games for the young.
Cosmic Raiders (Mikro-Gen) (Spectrum 16K)
Cosmic Raiders runs slowly and not particularly smoothly... Firing the craft's laser freezes the entire screen for a brief period.
Meteor Storm (Quicksilva) (Spectrum 16K)
Control of the ship takes time to master, and the keys could have been better selected.
Quite compulsive but has one important fault - the keyboard seems to be read unpredictably.
Planetoids (Psion) (Spectrum 16K)
Planetoids is an average adaptation of the arcade game, but Psion has not fully debugged it or presented it at its best.
Ground Attack (Silversoft) (Spectrum 16K)
Destruction of one of your ships is shown in a spectacular and effective way, with appropriate sound.
