A must for Mr. Men of all ages! Read Review
Any child who enjoys the TV program or the books will certainly love this game. But I don't think that it will hold much appeal for anyone over the age of 11. Read Review
It has nicely animated graphics, good use of sound and colour and clear child-like drawings of houses... A humorous pleasing game. Read Review
The way in which the various Mr. Men walk in front and behind objects is very impressive. The music is very good too. Read Review
An amusing, varied and colourful game. Read Review
Keep up with Mr. Bounce as he leaps around town helping his friends. A challenging and original arcade game featuring the Mr. Men. With four screens, each with eight versions, Hi Bouncer will test your reflexes and game tactics to breaking point. This is for the experts!
Also included: a seven level Hi Bouncer practice program. The simplest level is playable by young children (or inquisitive adults!).
Mr. Bounce says:
"Hi! I'm that star of this game. You've got to give me a hand to help my friends the Mr. Men. It's easy... for the first five seconds! Just make sure I don't bump into anybody or anything!"
Mr. Bounce can move left or right, fast or slow. He can also jump. The size of the jump depends on whether you are going fast or slow: low jump (slow), high jump (fast). Mr. Bounce can also manoeuvre left or right in mid-jump.
Remember that under keyboard control, everything happens fast unless you have the ? button held down.
There are four main screens, each of which has eight versions which increase in difficulty.
Screen 1 features Mr. Tall, who can't reach his scarf and then his gloves which have blown into the road. Help Mr. Bounce catch them by jumping through the air and landing on them feet first. Watch out for the falling fruit later on.
Screen 2 stars Mr. Lazy who is too idle to finish building his house. If you can land Mr. Bounce feet first on the see-saw you'll get things moving. Don't step in the puddle.
Screen 3 has poor old Mr. Bump feeling too bruised to knock any more fruit off the trees. Help Mr. Bounce jump and catch the fruit, and we do mean catch. You've never seen fruit move like this! Watch out for the red and yellow fruit, and those puddles are back again.
Screen 4 is a sunny day, so how that Mr. Snow is melting! If Mr. Bounce can only reach those clouds he can shield Mr. Snow, who is still melting, so hurry. The birds, the birds, watch out for the birds.
Quick hints: Each screen needs different tactics, so use all your controls. When things get tough, keep on bouncing! Remember to avoid all the other Mr. Men.
There are two versions of the game. The arcade version is for speed freaks... you're on your own with this one. The practice version has seven levels of difficulty. Practice levels are displayed bottom right of the opening screen; they are numbered 1 (hardest) to 7 (easiest). Numbers change automatically; press the space bar when the level you want is displayed.
Z - Left, X - Right, * - Jump, ? - Slow
You may use a joystick if you prefer. Use the fire key to jump.
P - Toggle pause, S - Change sound volume
CHAIN"" (RETURN)
On the cassette version, Side A has arcade then practice recorded in that order. Side B has them in the reverse order.
