All the fun and thrills of the funfair are brought to life in your BBC computer as you fire at the ducks, rabbits and teddy bears in the Shooting Gallery. Watch out for the ducks as they fly down and eat your limited supply of bullets. Hit the bell with the slider to prevent more ducks appearing. Amusing graphics and realistic sound effects make this another 100% machine code winner from Softspot.
Funfair is a game where you control the fun in a shooting gallery.
Shoot at the ducks, rabbits and teddy bears as they move above your gun. You have a limited number of bullets so shoot accurately. Occasionally, a duck will release from its peg and start flying towards the bottom where it will eat some of your displayed bullets. Destroy it by hitting the duck's body; hit its wing and it will plummet towards the bottom making your job harder.
Extra bullets can be obtained by shooting the moving numbers in the rows and also by hitting the displayed bullets when they appear in the "special" box in the top left. You can also add to your score by shooting at the numbers that appear in the box but be careful - shoot the box at the wrong time and you could lose bullets and points.
To prevent more ducks from joining the rows, hit the bell by firing at the slider. It will take several hits at the slider to get it high enough to ring the bell, and it may be blocked off by the bell door occasionally shutting. Hitting the targets in consecutively higher rows scores more points and when all the targets have been destroyed you move onto the bonus stage where you have to shoot through moving walls before your bullets run out. You then proceed to the next stage with progressively faster targets, more aggressive ducks and a more active bell door.
The game finishes when you have exhausted your supply of bullets or the time, displayed at the top, has run out. By hitting the note, sound can be switched on and off.
Good luck!
