Fruit machine addicts who need a fix after pub hours will think it's marvellous. And people who always swore they'd never waste their money on a one-armed bandit can now have their cake and eat it. Read Review
Fruity is an imaginative high resolution, machine code and basic program which perfectly imitates a real fruit machine. The only difference being you cannot lose any money! You can gamble, hold and nudge just as you would on a real machine.
A list of instructions first appears on the screen which informs the player of the various facilities available. At the start of the game, you are awarded 20 credits - this is displayed in the centre of the screen as Cr/20. To "spin" the reels, then press Space. Should you win over two credits then you can gamble by pressing the G key, or collect by pressing the C key. If you gamble and win, then you can re-gamble until you lose or reach a maximum of 20 credits.
During the game the reel numbers ( 1 - 2 - 3 ) may flash "HOLD". If this occurs, then to hold a reel, press the corresponding 1, 2, 3 key. To clear a hold, then press CLEAR.
At the top right-hand corner of the screen appears a Features Table. During play, the symbols in the centre row are placed on the features table. These are then held or cleared at random. Should the symbols on the table occur in a vertical, horizontal or diagonal line then two nudges are awarded for every complete line. After a win, the table is automatically cleared.
When you are awrded nudges, then you can either gamble or collect these by again using the G or C keys. The direction of the nudges is decided by the Arrow Up and Down keys, and the reels nudged by pressing the keys 1, 2 or 3.
