This book explores creative ways of using the BBC Micro and the Electron to make music. It shows you how to generate sounds and how to combine different sound characteristics and rhythms to produce exciting and distinctive musical styles and instrumental effects.
The book covers a wide range of styles, including pop, folk, classical and modern music. It also examines many musical ideas and techniques such as rhythmic effects, the integration of sound and graphics, sound synthesis, instrument simulation, sound effects, ethnic music, auto-composition and music processing techniques.
The author is a professional composer and musician specialising in computer-generated music. His computer music compositions have been performed and broadcast in many parts of the world, including an orchestral work with a part for the BBC Micro which has been performed in Salzburg.
