Despite the rarity of the publication, I cannot even feign an interest in the majority of the programs contained within its pages.
It is one of the best games I have ever seen, and to think it retailed at just £1.99 on cassette is scarcely believable.
The graphics are outstanding, the sound is adequate and the playability, despite the frustration factor, is there.
An absolutely unique experience and a very positive one, I believe, for every retro gamer who attended.
Assuming you're stuck on tape with PAGE raised to &1500, any budding programmer wishing to use the Voxbox system is limited to a very small amount of memory to work with.
It is lousy. It is the very worst Acorn Electron game ever commercially released.
The news stories are the usual mix of the Electron helping in education, business and helping a New Zealand kangaroo pass its exams.
The slick programming, and the comparatively simple prose that illuminates it, ultimately destines this book as The Bible for a budding BBC gamemaker.
Five lives are just not enough to make it through the whole game, which is huge.
