Where this adventure scores highly is in the quality of the puzzles... Parsing gets the adequate mark but the replies are a little unhelpful and very repetitive. Read Review
Cops is a pretty good adventure and worth buying, but there are a couple of minor drawbacks to the parser. Read Review
An interactive story written by Philip Hawthorne
You knew it was going to be one of those days as soon as you got up. First the shower heater blew a fuse and then you spilt coffee on your new uniform trousers. Lucky you had the spare pair pressed - wouldn't want to create a bad impression on your first day out of the Police Academy.
As you sipped your replacement cup of coffee and munched your oatie flakes, you couldn't keep wondering what your new colleagues would be like.
No amount of imagination could have prepared you for the events of the next twelve hours - your very first day as one of the Hall Street "Cops"...
In response to the "What Now?" prompt, you can enter fairly complex sentences with multiple commands, such as:
DROP ALL EXCEPT THE GUN, THE HANDCUFFS; GO NORTH THEN TALK TO THE MAN
Note that the objects in the EXCEPT list may be separated by spaces or commas and that the list must be terminated by a semicolon (;) or a colon (:) which must have at least one space either side.
To store your current position on disk, you should use the SAVE command: you will be prompted for a filename. You can resume from a saved position by using the RESTORE command.
Cops is only available on 5.25" DFS disc.
