I was not over enthralled by this adventure and, had I paid full price for it, I'd probably have felt robbed. Read Review
Having seen only about 75% of the locations - I spent too much time having to reload! - I can't really tell you about the ending, except to say it looks fun. Read Review
Are you courageous? Do you have nerves of steel? Has your TV broken down? IF the answer to any one of these questions is 'Yes', then this adventure is for you!
Written for the BBC Model B, the game starts in a deserted village which is overshadowed by the sinister castle inhabited by the Transylvanian Terror, Dracula, and other assorted nasties. Your mission (should you choose to accept it) is to enter the castle and serve His Putrescence a well prepared stake. Unfortunately, as you might expect, your progress depends on how well you cope with the various traps and obstacles you come across. However, there are many useful (and some not so useful) objects to be found along the way, and from time to time the program can be persuaded to give you hints, but you will have to rely mainly on your ingenuity. There are 100 locations to explore and you have the option to save your progress on tape at any time.
CHAIN"" (RETURN)
The main program and data file will then load, after which you will be asked to zero the tape counter and hit any key. At this point you may insert a tape containing a saved game. To play from the start of the game, simply leave the cassette deck in play mode and hit any key. To stop the game enter QUIT, and you will be given the option to save your progress.
At any stage in the game you can save your progress by entering SAVE PROG. Insert a blank cassette and follow the instructions on the screen. To load a saved game, type LOAD PROG and follow the instructions.
