Twice before the "caped-prat" had sallied forth to do battle with the forces of evil and twice before he had triumphed over adversity ... or at least that was the version of the story that he liked to relate, and to be quite honest nobody was really that bothered as to argue the point. So Arnold The Adventurer built himself quite a nice little reputation as a "wronger" or should that be a "righter" ... it all depends upon which side of the fence you are sitting ... and his fame spread far and wide, or at least nearly to the eastern boundaries of Bedford.
Resplendent in the knowledge that he was capable of handling most "awkward situations", Arnold decided to advertise his services in the local "free" newspaper and, being in need of some sound advice on how to lay out his advert, set off to seek the help of his old pal Winthorpe ... a wizard of great learning and well practiced in the use of such things as "words".
Upon his arrival at Winthorpe's residence, Arnold was greatly distressed to find his old chum lying in bed and to hear the sounds of pain that were emanating from him. A closer inspection, albeit from a distance, revealed that the old "waver-of-wands" was covered from head to foot in some rather unsightly red blotches and looked rather green around the gills. Had he been a fish Arnold was certain that SIX spoonfuls of caustic soda in his bowl would soon have rid him of the blotches, but Winthorpe was reluctant to duck his head below water and Arnold was not sure if he had a big enough spoon anyway, so there was little to be gained from this course of action. However one thing was certain, without a cure for the blotches Winthorpe was sure to be spotted wherever he went!!
This game will recognise all the normal commands; in fact a simple input of HELP will supply you with a list of most of the required vocabulary to complete the game ... but not all of it! Use RAMSAVE and RAMLOAD to store a game position in memory but always revert to the more normal SAVE and LOAD to store a position to tape or disk for a more useful and permanent record of your progress through the game.
In the game you will meet such luminaries as the infamous "Balrog Brothers" and the nice, but weird, "Flower People", so interact with them in order to solve the various problems and hopefully Arnold will be able to find the cure necessary to rid his old pal Winthorpe of the dreaded red blotches.
Can you do it or will Winthorpe be destined to spend his days looking vaguely similar to a cucumber with measles ... it is up to you, so do your best. Or failing that why not CHEAT?
Watch out Schwarzenegger ... Arnold III is here!
